Click again on the scroll menu, select “ Model 2” and then click on export and save the. Click on the scroll menu and select “ Model 1“, then click on the red arrow box to export the file in. You will see that a stair is made up of three meshes:Ħ. *If the model stairs you chose doesn’t have a wall, then the first and only entry will be CSTR right away.ĥ.

Click on the scroll menu starting by “CWAL…”* and select the second entry “CSTR…” You will have the stair now showing in the main window. We will first need to extract the original stair meshes to serve as guide for our new staircase. The UI of TSRW can be very confusing, slow to respond and buggy so naviguate carefully.

Title and description are in the contrary the one that will appears ingame). Enter the title of your item (Project name is for you and will not be shown. SO IF YOU WANT A BASEGAME ITEM, YOU’LL NEED TO CLONE A BASEGAME STAIRCASE.ģ. NOTE: I RECOMMEND TO NOTE THE NAME OF THE STAIRCASE YOU WANT TO CLONE INGAME AS THE EXPANSION PACKS REQUIRED FOR THOSE ITEMS ARE NOT SHOWN IN TSRW. There are actually two sort of models you will want to choose: one with wall included, or one without. Click on Stairs and select the model you want to clone. Open TSR Workshop, select Create New Project then Builditem and click on Next.Ģ. Note: Qolygonal also made a tutorial about stairs, you might find additional informations there !ġ. Without that missing point my stairs would have stayed incomplete.
#Sims 4 studio blender plugins how to
This tutorial is rather advanced and will not show you how to create a new mesh.Ĭredits: I want to particularily thank Brujah from the S4S forum for helping me and explain how to achieve importing blender file into unrecognized package in S4S. If you have questions or comments about the tutorial please post them in the comment section along with the number of the step you’re discussing.

If not, I recommend learning first with the help of the tutorials you can find on youtube or on S4S forums. I’m assuming if you follow this thread that you already know how Sims4studio works and that you’re familiar with the basics of making custom content. This tutorial will show you how to create a functional CC stair for the Sims 4 using TSRW, Sims 4 Studio and Blender. TUTORIAL: HOW TO CREATE A CC STAIR FOR THE SIMS 4 I have no idea how to read this log though. This article has been copied in its entirety, with permission, from the website of one of our Featured Artists, Syboubou.
#Sims 4 studio blender plugins update
Was there another S4 update in the past couple of days?ĮTA: Interesting, I just tried exporting an anim from S4S and was also hit with an error. I too am using S4S v3.1.4.5 (Wishes) but I haven't seen that message yet. I'm happy that you managed to get the Blender plugin working though! There's conflicting info all over the forums as far as how it works with Blender. I found the process of installing S4S to be frustrating. I guess I'll have to wait for another update. Now I'm using 3.1.4.5, which seems to be the newest version of S4Studio, but there's a message pop-up stating that this version is not supported and that most likely means that the game has been patched beyond what that version of S4Studio supports. It tells me to check for an update, even though I've updated earlier this day. Still, I get in S4Studio an error when I try to export clip. I really think they should have made that clear. I made Blender plug-in appear by choosing io_sims.py in \Sims4Studio\Blender\Scripts\ folder, but I think I haven't seen that piece of information in S4Studio installation instructions.

I went through several pages on help subforum, but I somehow I missed the thread you linked. This thread does say that it works up to 2.79 though:, maybe give that a try? It may be that I need to reverse the steps on that tutorial and have the "S4S Studio setup" be first.Įither way it looks like there's a big set of confusions off the bat and that you should be using 2.76 for TS4 conversions. But maybe not? Can you update me on what you find out and I'll make that note in my tutorial? Looking at comments on the S4S website over the past year I guess it seems that the plugin should only appear up till version 2.78.but the official documentation says it's only included up till 2.76. I only have 2.79 and 2.92 installed on my computer but somehow I magically have the S4S Blender Tools appearing in my Addons. I also can't find Sims4Studio Blender Tools plug-in in Blender settings.Īnd now I'm confused as well, lol. How did you get Blender 2.79 to work with Sims4Studio? It won't work for me. Congrats, Mortia! I feel honoured to be mentioned. Finally, comprehensive tutorials on converting animations.
